Curator’s Statement

Art is making something out of nothing. Art is asking the big questions. Art is Drawing a line somewhere. Art must make us think and feel something when we encounter it, wherever we encounter it. Art is a passion to create. Art is many different things to many different people.

As a curator I look for those qualities that are original, experimental, thought provoking, innovative, passionate and executed with the highest quality, skill and professionalism. I prefer to view art initially from E-Media then follow up with a visit to the artist studio. All Art Matters.

Mosaics have a long history, with evidence of their existence beginning in Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennium BCE. Many materials other than the traditional are utilized by contemporary artists.
